Relax and Ride
Labor day celebrates all the hard work you've done and rewards you with an extra long weekend. So now the question is, what to do with this long weekend? The answer is pretty obvious, RIDE! You can pick a destination or pick a direction, either way it's time to get the hell out of dodge. Here are a few of our favorite rides.
Peak to Peak Highway
If you're looking to get the most out of every mile, peak to peak highway is your best bet. This scenic road, tucked in the Colorado mountains offers stunning views at every turn. Being only 60 miles, the road is a quick ride but offers everything you could hope for in a short ride.
Pacific Coast Highway
Are you looking for a little bit of everything on your ride? Look no further than the Pacific Coast Highway. This road gives you a water front view coupled with a lush forest of redwoods. With two major cities in between, you will have an incredible ride with lots of city to explore at each end of your journey.
Lake Tahoe Scenic Drive
Okay so, we may be a little bias with this one but its easily one of the best rides out there. Lake Tahoe is the must see spot, if you are ever in the Reno-Tahoe area. The crystal clear water coupled with the towering trees make this place special. And for those of you who enjoy twists and turns, you'll get your fill on the way up. If you are trying to decide where to go,
Natchez Trace Parkway
This long stretch of road takes you across three states and 10,000 years of history. At whopping 444 miles, this trip is no joke. Along the way, there are many different activities that are linked to the long history of this road. The best part is either way it's an excuse to check out Nashville.
This ride will be short and sweet. BearTooth is 69 miles of zigzags and switchbacks and to top it all off, you'll be at 11,000 feet. This is not a trek to take lightly, as it is known for heavy winds. But if you are up to it, you can conquer this famed highway and the pride that comes with it.
You may already have your trip planned out but hey, it's a long weekend, you have time for a detour. Trust us, these rides will be well worth it. Even if you don't take our suggestions, as long as you're riding, you're spending this holiday the right way.
